“For the past two years I have had a local church group supporting my class and they have been an incredible resource for my students and me. They have given time and money to support what I was doing, and then some. They have tutored my students in math, chaperoned field trips, sponsored holiday “feasts”, provided Pen Pals for my students to practice writing, led book club discussions, and more. I plan to continue this partnership again next year. Given the impending budget cuts, this support will be more critical than ever. This has made a difference for my students, and it has been an incredibly powerful experience for all involved.”
